Description
The Four Sons of the Hagadah. Oil paintings, 1997, 16 W x 20 H x 1 D (inches), 40.6 W x 50.8 H x 2.5 D (centimeters) The Wise son is 18 X 24 inches.
I created a lot of art for Pesach, wrote a complete Haggadah, several series of the 15 Steps, Chad kadya, Echad mee yodea, in black and white or in color, I painted the seder, and more.
These paintings belongsto a series of four depicting the four sons in the Haggadah: the wise son, the bad son, the simple son, and the one who does not know what to ask.
The wise son is a scholar, the bad son does not live a true Jewish life, does not keep kosher and eats a big trayfe lobster, but at least he is present at the Seder table. The son who cannot ask is a baby on his mother’s lap, but also the man outside of the window. He knows so little about his Jewish heritage that he is not even aware that it it Pesach. The third son, who in my painting works in a pickle store, is in a private collection, but I will take a commission.
The price mentioned is for each painting separately. If someone wants to buy all three (and commissions a new Third Son), there will be a discount, of course.
The paintings will be shipped from Berlin, request shipping costs.
