Description

The Shema is the most well known prayer in all of Judaism. “Shema Yisrael, Adonai, Elohenu, Adonai Echad” translates to “Hear O’ Israel, the Lord is Our God, the Lord is One.”

The Shema and v’ahavta are recited daily in every synagogue service. The prayer appears within all mezuzahs, and is also one of the prayers within the boxes of tefillin (phylacteries) which are worn during morning prayers.
