Description
My name is Adina, which means “Gentle,” in Hebrew. My colored pencil drawing was made upon an old advertising print for Charles Antell Shampoo. The colored pencil shampoo bottle features a hedgehog and the words, “Gentle Formula.” Around the shampoo bottle are flowers from the species “Adina Rubella,” which looks like the COVID virus. I did the Hebrew calligraphy surrounding the print, which is from Chapter 48 in Isaiah, in which Babylonian women are accused of witchcraft and sorcery, and warned that they will no longer be considered delicate, among more severe punishments.
